These terms apply to the PixelUnion referral program. They add to our Terms of Service. Where the two differ, the Terms of Service apply.
What the program is
You can invite people to PixelUnion with your personal referral link. When someone you invited becomes a paying customer, you get extra storage and they get a discount on their first payment. They get their own PixelUnion, not access to yours.
Who can take part
- You: anyone with a PixelUnion account, free or paid.
- The people you invite: anyone who does not have a PixelUnion account yet. Moving an existing account to a paid plan does not count as a referral.
How it works
- You find your referral link in your account, via your profile at the top right. There you can also see how your referrals are doing.
- The person you invite signs up through your link, or enters your code by hand during sign-up.
- Their discount is applied automatically. It cannot be entered as a discount code at checkout.
Rewards
- For you: 5 GB of extra storage for every successful referral, on top of your plan.
- Maximum: 50 GB per account, which means up to 10 successful referrals.
- Your extra storage stays when you change plans.
- For the person you invite: 20% off their first payment, on a monthly or a yearly plan.
- Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred to another account.
When a referral counts
A referral is successful when the person you invited makes their first successful payment within 12 months of signing up. Your extra storage is added as soon as that payment goes through.
Refunds
If the person you invited changes their mind and gets a regular refund, you keep your reward.
Misuse is not allowed
The referral program is for inviting real people who want to use PixelUnion. Any form of misuse is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Referring yourself, or creating or using several accounts to collect rewards.
- Inviting people who are not real, new customers, such as friends or family accounts you control, or accounts made only to trigger a reward.
- Paying and then reversing or disputing the payment (for example through a chargeback) just to collect a reward.
- Using stolen, fraudulent or someone else’s payment details.
- Spamming: sending unsolicited bulk messages, or posting your link in a way that is misleading or deceptive.
- Using bots, scripts or other automated means to create sign-ups.
- Presenting yourself as PixelUnion, or making false claims about the service or the offer.
If we find or reasonably suspect misuse, we may, without prior notice:
- take back rewards you received, including extra storage;
- cancel the discount of the person involved;
- switch off your referral link and remove you from the program;
- suspend or close the accounts involved, in line with our Terms of Service.
If your extra storage is taken back and you are using more than your plan allows, you may need to free up space or upgrade your plan. We decide whether something is misuse, and our decision is final. If you think we made a mistake, email us and we will look at it again.
Changes to the program
We may change or end the referral program. When we do, we update this page and the date at the top. Rewards you have already received stay yours.
