Managing Your Storage

Learn how to check and manage your storage usage

Managing Your Storage Usage

Keep track of your photo and video storage to make the most of your PixelUnion plan.

Checking Your Storage Usage

Your storage usage is displayed in the bottom left corner of your PixelUnion interface. You can see it at any time while logged into your account.

The storage display shows:

  • Used storage – How much space your photos and videos are taking (e.g., “269.9 GiB of 1 TiB used”)
  • Total storage – Your plan’s storage limit
  • Visual progress bar – A visual representation of your storage consumption

You can also view detailed storage information by:

  1. Logging in to your PixelUnion domain (e.g., yourname.pixelunion.eu)
  2. Clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Selecting Account Settings
  4. Viewing the Storage section for more details

Understanding Storage Limits

Your storage limit depends on your PixelUnion plan. Check our pricing page for current plan details.

Storage is calculated based on:

  • Original photos – Full resolution images
  • Original videos – Full quality video files
  • RAW files – Unprocessed camera files

Note: Thumbnails and previews generated by the system don’t count toward your storage limit.

Tips for Managing Storage

1. Remove Duplicate Photos

PixelUnion can help identify duplicate photos:

  1. Go to Library in the main menu
  2. Look for the Duplicates section
  3. Review and remove unwanted duplicates

2. Delete Unwanted Photos

Regularly review and delete photos you no longer need:

  1. Select photos you want to remove
  2. Click the Delete button (trash icon)
  3. Photos move to the Trash
  4. Empty the trash to permanently delete and free up space

3. Check the Trash

Deleted photos remain in the Trash for 30 days before being permanently deleted. To free up space immediately:

  1. Go to Trash in the sidebar
  2. Click Empty Trash to permanently delete all items
  3. Or select specific items and delete them permanently

4. Review Large Files

Videos typically use the most storage. Consider:

  • Removing duplicate video recordings
  • Deleting failed or unwanted video takes
  • Archiving old videos you rarely access
