How to delete your PixelUnion account and what happens to your data

Deleting Your Account

If you’ve decided to delete your PixelUnion account, this guide explains the process and what happens to your data.

Before You Delete

Before requesting account deletion, please consider:

1. Download Your Data First

Once your account is deleted, your photos and videos cannot be recovered. We strongly recommend downloading your data before deletion.

We recommend using Immich Go for downloading all your photos and videos. This tool allows you to download your entire library efficiently while preserving metadata, dates, and album structures. See our guide on downloading your photos and videos with Immich Go for detailed instructions.

Alternatively, you can:

  1. Log in to your PixelUnion domain
  2. Select the photos and videos you want to keep
  3. Click Download to save them to your device

For large collections, using Immich Go is the most efficient method.

2. Check Shared Albums

If you’ve shared albums with others:

  • Shared albums you own will be deleted
  • Other users will lose access to these albums
  • Consider transferring ownership or notifying shared users

3. Cancel Any Active Subscription

If you have an active paid subscription, make sure to cancel it to avoid future charges.

How to Request Account Deletion

To delete your PixelUnion account:

  1. Send an email to support@pixelunion.eu from your registered email address

  2. Subject line: “Account Deletion Request”

  3. Include in your email:

    • Your PixelUnion username or domain
    • Confirmation that you want to delete your account
    • Confirmation that you’ve downloaded any data you want to keep
  4. Verification: We may ask you to verify your identity for security

What Happens When Your Account Is Deleted

Immediately

  • Your account is deactivated
  • You can no longer log in
  • Your personal domain becomes inaccessible

Within 30 Days

  • All your photos and videos are permanently deleted
  • All albums and metadata are removed
  • Your account information is erased from our systems

Retained Information

In accordance with legal requirements, we may retain:

  • Billing records (for tax/legal purposes)
  • Support ticket history (anonymized)

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a European service, PixelUnion complies with GDPR. You have the right to:

  • Access – Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Rectification – Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Erasure – Request deletion of your personal data (this article)
  • Portability – Receive your data in a portable format

Processing Time

Account deletion requests are typically processed within:

  • Verification: 1-2 business days
  • Account deactivation: Immediate after verification
  • Complete data deletion: Up to 30 days

Changed Your Mind?

If you’ve requested deletion but changed your mind:

  • Contact us immediately at support@pixelunion.eu
  • We can cancel the deletion if it hasn’t been fully processed
  • Once deletion is complete, data cannot be recovered
