Managing Active Sessions

Keep your account secure by monitoring and managing the devices that are signed into your PixelUnion account.

What Are Active Sessions?

An active session represents a device or browser that’s currently logged into your account. This could include:

  • Your computer’s web browser
  • The Immich mobile app on your phone
  • The mobile app on a tablet
  • Other browsers or devices you’ve used

Viewing Your Active Sessions

To see all devices currently logged into your account:

  1. Go to the PixelUnion Account Security page
  2. Log in if prompted
  3. Look for the Device Activity or Sessions section

For each session, you’ll see:

  • Device type โ€“ Browser, mobile app, etc.
  • Location โ€“ Approximate location based on IP address
  • Last activity โ€“ When the device was last used
  • IP address โ€“ The network address

Signing Out of a Device

If you see a device you don’t recognize or want to remove:

  1. Go to Account Security โ†’ Device Activity
  2. Find the session you want to end
  3. Click Sign Out or Remove next to that session
  4. The device will be immediately logged out

Signing Out of All Devices

To sign out of all devices at once (except your current one):

  1. Go to Account Security
  2. Look for Sign out all devices or similar option
  3. Click to confirm
  4. All other sessions will be terminated

This is useful if:

  • You suspect unauthorized access
  • You’ve lost a device
  • You want to start fresh with your sessions

When to Review Your Sessions

We recommend checking your active sessions:

  • Monthly โ€“ As a regular security practice
  • After traveling โ€“ Especially if you used public computers
  • If you notice unusual activity โ€“ Strange emails, settings changes, etc.
  • After changing your password โ€“ To ensure old sessions are cleared

Signs of Suspicious Activity

Watch for these warning signs:

  • Sessions from locations you haven’t visited
  • Devices you don’t recognize
  • Multiple sessions from different countries
  • Activity at unusual times

If you see suspicious activity:

  1. Sign out of all unknown sessions immediately
  2. Change your password
  3. Enable two-factor authentication if not already active
  4. Contact support if you believe your account was compromised

Mobile App Sessions

The Immich mobile app creates a separate session. To manage mobile sessions:

  1. Check the session list for mobile app entries
  2. Sign out of mobile sessions you no longer use
  3. If you lose your phone, sign out that session immediately

Security Tips

  • Don’t stay logged in on shared computers โ€“ Always log out when done
  • Use private/incognito browsing โ€“ On public or shared devices
  • Enable 2FA โ€“ Adds an extra layer of protection
  • Regular reviews โ€“ Check your sessions periodically
