Immich v1.140.0 is here, bringing exciting new features and improvements to your photo management experience! This release continues the push towards feature parity for the beta timeline and introduces several enhancements based on community feedback.
🚀 New Features
[Beta] Background Sync
Immich now supports background sync in beta. New assets are detected and automatically queued for upload, handled by your device’s OS. Local and remote data sync tasks also run periodically in the background, ensuring your latest photos are available as soon as you open the app.
[Beta] Read-Only Mode
Perfect for parents and anyone who wants to browse photos without risk of accidental changes. Double-tap your profile photo in the app to enter read-only mode—action buttons are hidden, and you can safely view your timeline.
Location Management Utility
A new web utility lets you find and edit missing location data for assets on specific dates. Bulk update GPS info by navigating to Utilities > Manage location.
